HinderD
HinderD was a drug distribution initiative from my senior year at high school and year at community college. I mapped out the city of San Francisco, then using Leaflet.js and Node.js, I turned a CSV of overdoses into individual markers and a heatmap.
I then found underserved areas, found volunteers and businesses in said areas, and distributed Narcan there. I was able to distribute over 200 doses of life-saving Narcan to affected areas in the Bay (and, to a lesser extent, Los Angeles).
I have since taken down the official HinderD website, but the heatmap remains active. It has three toggleable modes (with hand-drawn sprites!) that reveal the heatmap, individual clickable overdoses, and EMT locations. It also has two map types.
